Ramarama Race
Well another great day of racing, and judging by most comments from riders, the new finish line meets with approval. At least it makes a change from the same old, same old, for those of you not so enamoured!
We did receive a comment from a motorist to a marshall re cyclists on wrong side of the centre line. I know it's hard, especially in the bigger grades, and in C grade we had 1 or 2 brief instances where this occured, and motorists only need small excuses! This does not excuse at least 2 idiot motorists who passed C grade in a dangerous manner! Anyway sounding like a stuck record, please observe all road rules.

Bruce Kent Memorial
Your entry should be in. If not ring Karen, beg for forgiveness, and you might be lucky.
Reminder that racing starts at 1:30pm. Please park in the side roads and not on the main Karaka Rd.
Please bring a plate for afternoon tea

Club Uniforms
To those who have placed orders with Jan, the order has been placed and delivery is expected shortly. We will advise when available for collection. We have ordered some extras in most sizes so if you require any club uniform for the Nationals please talk to Jan asap

Motorcycles wanted – If you own and ride a motorcycle and are prepared to do some roving marshal duties out on the race course we would like to hear from you. Contact details below.

Generator – We need a portable power station for the finish line area. If you can loan us a small generator for the day that would be great. Contact numbers below.

Corner Marshals – If you can help out on the course at Karaka it would be much appreciated.

Service vans – Spare wheels are often required by riders during the race. If you have a suitable vehicle – van, SUV/4WD, station wagon – and can volunteer. Do it. We have six races during the day and the longer ones we need two service vans for.

Lead cars – Each race needs a lead car. Anything presentable with working hazard flashers will be fine. We will supply the extra flashing lights.

If you can help with any of the above, please contact John Coker at 537 2561 or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or Martin Thomson at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

All Under 15 Riders
The Counties Manukau Cycling Club has determined that Under 15 Cyclists can ride up to 6.610m gearing in all local CMC Club Races.

This decision enables Under 15 Cyclists to ride the same gear as they ride in the Auckland Secondary Schools Association Waterfront Team Time Trial series which should make it easier and more economical for parents.

Please note this Gear Restriction concession does not apply to:
1. Open Races (e.g. Bruce Kent Memorial, North Harbour Races)
2. CMC Club Championship Events
3. Auckland Centre Championship Events.
4. New Zealand Championship Events.

Should you require further clarification, please contact the Race Day Secretary in the first instance.

Hope to see you all Saturday.
Stay safe & upright

Chris
